Roast Turkey with herb butter
Ingredients:
1 whole turkey
1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
4 cloves garlic, minced
2 tablespoons fresh rosemary, chopped
2 tablespoons fresh thyme, chopped
1 tablespoon fresh sage, chopped
Salt and pepper to taste
1 onion, quartered
1 lemon, halved
4 cups chicken broth
Steps to prepare:
Preheat your oven to 175°C.
Dry the Turkey with paper towel and season with salt and pepper.
In a bowl mix softened butter, rosemary, thyme, sage, salt and pepper.
Carefully loosen the skin of the turkey and rub the herb butter mixture.
Stuff the bird with onion and lemons.
Place the turkey on a roasting rack in a large roasting pan and pour chicken broth into the pan.
Cover the tukery with foil and roast for 2-3 hours.
Remove the foil and roast for another 30-60 minutes until the skin is golden.
Let it rest for 30 minutes before serving and enjoy.
Garlic Mashed Potatoes
Ingredients:
2 pounds Yukon gold potatoes, peeled and cubed
4 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 cup unsalted butter
1 cup heavy cream
Salt and pepper
Parsley
Steps to prepare at home:
Take a large pot and boil potatoes for 15 minutes.
Drain potatoes and add in another pot.
In a pan melt butter, add garlic and saute well.
Mash potatoes and add in the mixutre.
Mix well and garnish with salt, pepper and parsley before serving.
Pumpkin Pie
Ingredients
1 can of pumpkin puree
1/2 cup brown sugar
2 large eggs
1 cup heavy cream
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 pre-made pie crust
Steps to prepare at home:
Preheat the oven at 220 degree Celcius.
In a large bowl, whisk pumpkin puree, brown sugar, heavy cream, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, vanilla and salt.
Pour the mixture into the pie crust and smooth the top.
Bake for 15 minutes, after that reduce the temperature to 175 degree celciuos and cook for 40 minutes.
Let the pie cool completely before serving. Serve with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.
