New Delhi: Team India, on Thursday, had the privilege to meet Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese at the Parliament House in Canberra. The Rohit Sharma-led side and the Australia PM’s XI team had a meet up with the Australia PM. The official social media handle of PM Albanese shared pictures from the meeting.
On social media, a small video of the Australia PM chit chatting with the Rohit Sharma-led side was floated, where the PM could be seen exchanging pleasantries with the Men in Blue as Rohit introduced him to the Indian team members. PM Albanese also revealed his message to the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and said that he is backing the Australians to get the job done.
“Big challenge ahead for the PM’s XI at Manuka Oval this week against an amazing Indian side. But as I said to PM Narendra Modi, I’m backing the Aussies to get the job done,” the caption read.

The practice match between Team India and Australia PM’s XI will take place at the Manuka Oval and serve as a good preparation for the day-night Test match in Adelaide from December 6. India registered their biggest win on the Australian soil when they hammered the hosts by 295 runs in the series opener at Perth last week.

Following the protocol, India captain Rohit introduced all his teammates to PM Albanese, who praised heroes of the first Test including Jasprit Bumrah and Virat Kohli. In a video that has surfaced on social media site X, Mr. Albanese was seen having a cheeky conversation with star batter Virat, where he lauded the Indian cricket icon’s performance in the first Test.
