Champions Trophy semi-final, final to be shifted to UAE from Pakistan – Report

New Delhi: The Champions Trophy 2025 row has turned into a never-ending conundrum as the suspense over the nature of the big ICC event remains hidden. The 2025 edition which is supposed to be held in Pakistan, is facing a lot of trouble after India’s refusal to fly to the neighbouring nation due to the long-pending political tensions between the two countries.

According to a report published in the Indian Express, the apex cricket body had a virtual meet with the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), where a hybrid model was proposed to them, which will see the semi-final, final and India’s three matches being held at a neutral venue. However, it’s being said that Pakistan has still maintained their stance of not agreeing for a neutral venue and insisted that all the matches take place in their country.

Sri Lanka ‘A’ team’s match cancellation a big blow

Recently, the Sri Lanka Cricket Board cancelled their A team’s tour of Pakistan due to tensions brewing in the country, which came as big blow to the Asian nation especially with the Champions Trophy scene around the corner. The Asian nation had to cancel the tour to Pakistan because of former Prime Minister Imran Khan’s supporters reportedly storming the capital this week demanding his release.
