New Delhi: Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Thursday, November 28 that he’s looking forward to the exciting games of the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy. Notably, the Men in Blue defeated Australia by 295 runs in the first Test at the Optus Stadium in Perth and took a 1-0 lead in the five-match series.
Team India will play a warm-up match against the Prime Minister’s XI on November 30. The practice match will be played with the pink ball as Rohit and Co. will look to prepare for the Day-Night Test match in Adelaide, starting December 6.
Ahead of the practice game, Team India was hosted by Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese in Canberra on Thursday. He engaged in light-hearted conversations with many Indian players and shared the photographs of the meeting on his official X account.
While sharing some photographs he wrote “Big challenge ahead for the PM’s XI at Manuka Oval this week against an amazing Indian side. But as I said to PM @narendramodi, I’m backing the Aussies to get the job done” wrote Albanese on his X account.
The post also got a swift reply from the Indian PM who said that Team India has got off to a great start in the series and the 1.4 billion Indians are rooting for the Men in Blue.
Glad to see my good friend Prime Minister @AlboMP with the Indian and PM’s XI teams.
