New Delhi: Team India defeated Australia by 295 runs in the first Test at the Optus Stadium in Perth. The Aussies had won all four Test matches at Perth Stadium before Jasprit Bumrah and Co. handed them their first defeat at the venue. But Australian fast bowler Scott Boland has said that the team haven’t pressed panic buttons after the humbling defeat.
Boland has picked 35 wickets in 10 Test matches and said that there are no panic stations in the Australian changing room, but there was some chat about the individual performances, and everyone wants to perform well for the team. The fast bowler is likely to play the pink-ball Test match at the Adelaide Oval after Josh Hazlewood was ruled out of the match due to a side strain.
“There’s definitely not panic stations in our change rooms. There’s obviously going to be some chats around individual performances and everyone wants to perform really well every game they play. But yeah, it’s like, we’ve lost one game. It’s not toys out of the cot, I don’t think” Boland said.
‘We’ve got pretty set plans for Indian batters in the second Test’: Scott Boland
The Aussies have an excellent record in Pink ball Test matches and they have won 11 out of 12 matches since 2015. Their only defeat was against West Indies by eight runs earlier this year at The Gabba in Brisbane. The Australian team have a 7-0 record in Day-Night Test matches at the Adelaide Oval, while India also won three pink ball matches out of the four.
Boland further added that the Australian team have a set plan for the Indian batters in the second Test. He also praised Yashasvi Jaiswal and KL Rahul and said they batted really well in the second innings of the first Test but Australian teams have plans in place for the Indian team.
“Yashasvi Jaiswal batted really well there. KL Rahul batted well in the second dig as well and really digged in. So we’ll probably have a chat over the next week and our plans might slightly change, but I’m pretty confident what we did in the first game was good” Boland added.
