New Delhi: Team India star Yashasvi Jaiswal was involved in a heated face-off with Aussie pacer Jack Nisbet during the warm-up match between the visitors and the Australia Prime Minister’s XI at the Manuka Oval in Canberra on Sunday. Jaiswal was initially troubled by the pace and bounce from Nisbet but tackled the pacer well to play a good knock of 45 runs in the practice match.
Jaiswal combined with his opening partner KL Rahul to continue his great form in the warm-up game and provide India with a strong start in their 241-run chase against Australia PM’s XI. Jaiswal scored 45 while Rahul retired hurt on 27 as the duo shared a 75-run stand for the first wicket. En route to his knock, Jaiswal was involved in some heated exchange with pacer Nisbet.
En route to his knock, Jaiswal got lucky on a couple of occasions against Nisbet. The pacer managed to induce a couple of edges off the left-hander’s bat which flew over the slip cordon before surprising Jaiswal with a good bouncer. The bouncer left Jaiswal flustered as he defended it awkwardly but the Indian batter was in no mood to let the Aussie pacer get on his nerves.
After his bouncer, Nisbet was seen hurling a few words towards Jaiswal, who promptly sent him back and asked him to continue bowling. Jaiswal went on to hit a couple of boundaries against the pacer next to assert his dominance. However, the clip of the duo’s heated face-off became a talking point among the fans on social media.
