New Delhi: Joshua Zirkzee will start for Manchester United ahead of UEFA Europa League brace scorer Rasmus Hojlund, and the Dutch footballer will have a lot of responsibility as he makes his first start under the 39-year-old manager. Ruben Amorim mentioned earlier that he wants to play a different squad in order to keep everyone match-ready and avoid injuries.
With a lot of games lined up, it won’t be easy for the same squad to Zirkzee, which was one of the choices that Amorim thought to put to best use. It is a huge gamble for the newly appointed manager with the 23-year-old. So far, Zirkzee has managed to score only once in the Premier League, which came in his debut game against Fulham and made one assist.
Despite transfer links with Juventus already alarmed, Amorim noted that Zirkzee was quite a talented player and could be a great asset in the game against Everton. One of the prime reasons for this is Everton’s lineup of two centre-backs. Plus, Amorim feels Zirkzee is technically sound and reaches the ball in different areas. Holland looked familiar with Amorim’s 3-4-3 formation, but for this game, Amorim has decided to go with a 3-4-2-1 lineup. This is something that many will hope suits Zirkzee.

Amorim has already made six changes to the side, as he had stated earlier. The back-three lineup remains unchanged, with Noussair Mazroui, Lisandro Martinez and Matthijs de Ligt retaining their spot in the starting XI. The Portuguese manager has, however, brought in Amad Diallo and Diogo Dalot to replace Tyrell Malacia and Antony in the wing-back.
The duo weren’t the most impressive during their Europa League outing. Kobbie Mainoo will be making his first start since returning from a calf injury in the central midfield, with Casemiro as his partner. Bruno Fernandes is playing alongside Marcus Rashford in an attacking midfield role.
