Arne Slot gives his honest verdict over sympathy towards Pep Guardiola and Man City

New Delhi: As Manchester City’s worst run of the manager’s career continued with a 2-0 loss at Anfield, Arne Slot has maintained that no one should feel sorry for Pep Guardiola. Liverpool defeated City for the sixth time in their previous seven games, moving them 11 points clear of their rivals, who are currently in fifth place in the table after losing four straight Premier League games.

However, Slot, the head coach of Liverpool, believes it is risky to dismiss Guardiola and stated that he does not feel sorry for the six-time Premier League champion because of the City manager’s extensive medal collection.

Slot had some interesting comments to make as he claimed that in a truly awful situation, everyone feels pity or empathy for the bosses. He also suggested that despite the fact that City have lost a lot of games, Pep has won a lot of things and has repeatedly demonstrated that the league is not decided in November or December, so nobody needs to feel sorry for Pep. The Dutch manager also stated that Pep will be able to restore City because he has won so many things.

However, after last night’s performance on the pitch, it is hard to believe that Pep Guardiola will be able to recover from this defeat. City looked extremely sloppy with their possession and passing, something that you can’t expect from Pep’s talented side. Defensively, there were one too many errors that exposed their goal further. In the end, it seemed like City were lucky to concede just two, when it could have been much worse if it wasn’t for the missed chances that Liverpool had.

After Mohamed Salah scored the second goal, Guardiola said he did not anticipate the Liverpool supporters yelling “sacked in the morning,” but he maintained that he was fine with it.

“I’m so proud of my six Premier Leagues against that team and the previous team,” Pep Guardiola replied, raising six fingers, one for each Premier League titles he had won. He was surprised when Anfield began chanting those mean things towards him.
