New Delhi: Rohit Sharma made a sweet gesture towards a fan who was waiting to get his autograph for the past 10 years.  The hardcore fan of the Indian captain checked into Manuka Oval and called out his hero’s name several times but what caught Rohit’s attention was the “Mumbai cha raja” chant.

His effort paid dividends as Rohit, elated by the fandom, duly obliged and ended the long wait of his ardent fan by signing him an autograph. Rohit’s sweet gesture came after India’sresounding win in the warm-up game against Prime Minister’s XI in Canberra on Sunday.

Rohit bhai please, dus saal ho gaye yaar (it’s been 10 years). Rohit bhai Mumbai cha raja (king of Mumbai),” the fan asked Rohit.

The BCCI shared a video of the sweet moment. The video showed Rohit interacting with fans and signing autographs on bats and jerseys. Amidst all the chaos, the voice of this fan attracted the attention of Rohit and the Indian captain smiled and turned to the other side of the stair passage to make his fan’s wish come true.

Ideal preparation for India ahead of Adelaide Test

India warmed up to the second Test in Adelaide with a comfortable victory over PM’s XI at the Manuka Oval in Canberra. The pink-ball warm-up match was scheduled ahead of the pink-ball Test starting at the Adelaide Oval on Friday, November 06.

The match was reduced to a 46-over-a-side contest after inclement weather washed out the opening day. Rohit, who joined the squad midway through the Perth Test, batted at No. 4 but was dismissed for just three runs.

Rohit missed the opening Test at the Optus Stadium due to the birth of his second child. He will return to lead the team in the second Test, replacing Jasprit Bumrah as captain in the playing X1.

India are 1-0 up in the five-match series following their 295-run win over the Aussies in Perth.
