New Delhi: India is a country known for its craze for the game of cricket and players are treated as demigods here. Some well established cricketers like Sachin Tendulkar, MS Dhoni, Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma enjoy massive fan following across the nation. These cricketers have earned their fame by sheer performance on the field and they attract major brand endorsement, standalone their IPL values.
However, not Sachin, Dhoni or Kohli hold the tag of the richest cricketer in India. It sounds strange but true. The moniker goes to Aryaman Birla, who has never played international cricket or IPL. The 27-year-old has played only at the domestic cricket level for Madhya Pradesh. It should be noted that Aryaman is the son of Kumar Mangalam Birla, the chairman of Aditya Birla Group.
Aryaman was born in Mumbai but moved to Rewa in Madhya Pradesh to kick off his journey in cricket. The move was taken to play junior level cricket in Madhya Pradesh and then move to the higher level, which is the senior state team. He made his first-class debut against Odisha in 2017.
His only century scored, in the nine red-ball matches played, came against Bengal at Eden Gardens in the 2018 Ranji season. The prudent 103 not out in the second innings helped Madhya Pradesh salvage a draw after conceding 510 runs in the first innings and subsequently were asked to follow-on. Aryaman has played with MP and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) player Rajat Patidar.
