New Delhi: Ace Indian shuttler PV Sindhu is all set to begin a new chapter in her life as she will get married to Hyderabad-based businessman and IT professional Venkata Datta Sai on December 22. Sindhu will tie the knot in a destination wedding that is set to take place in Rajasthan’s Udaipur. The double Olympic medallist recently ended her title drought by winning the women’s singles title at the Syed Modi Open 2024.
Sindhu’s to-be husband Venkata Datta Sai, is an accomplished IT professional, who currently serves as the executive director of Posidex Technologies, a Hyderabad-based IT firm. The marriage has been planned in a way that Sindhu can return to the international circuit by January to continue focusing on her game.
The wedding ceremonies will get underway in Udaipur on December 20 followed by the marriage on December 22. Only close friends and family members of the couple will attend the wedding in Udaipur. A grand reception has been planned by the two families in Hyderabad later where other friends and well-wishers of the couple are expected to join the celebrations.
Who is PV Sindhu’s to-be husband Venkata Datta Sai?
As per the information available on LinkedIn, Sindhu’s to-be husband Venkata Datta Sai holds the position of Executive Director at Posidex Technologies. He also serves as the Managing Director and co-owns Sour Apple Asset Management, a firm that offers portfolio management and financial advisory services.
Venkata Datta Sai completed his BBA degree in Accounting and Finance from FLAME University in Pune before doing a Master’s degree in data science and machine learning from the International Institute of Information Technology in Bengaluru in 2020-21. He gained experience by working as a summer intern at JSW before working with the organisation as an in-house consultant.
He also worked with JSW-owned Delhi Capitals in the Indian Premier League (IPL) during his time with the organisation. Opening up on his experience of working with an IPL team, he wrote his BBA degree in finance and economics “pales in comparison to managing an IPL team”. However, he insisted on learning from both experiences.
He has been serving as an Executive Director at Posidex Technologies since 2019 where he has focused on leadership and developing innovative solutions to help major banks streamline processes like credit card transactions and loan disbursals. He also claims to be an angel investor apart from being an Executive Director at Posidex Technologies.
PV Sindhu’s stellar career
Sindhu, one of the flagbearers of women’s badminton in India, is regarded as one of the greatest athletes that the country has ever produced. She is the only Indian shuttler with two medals at the Olympics and remains the only Indian to have bagged the elusive gold medal at the World Championships. Sindhu is one of only four Indian athletes to have won multiple medals at the Olympics.
She has won a total of five medals at the World Championships, including gold in 2019. Sindhu has also won a total of five medals at the Commonwealth Games, including two gold and as many silver. Sindhu will return to action next year with her sight set on the BWF World Championships 2025 where she will be gunning for glory.
