The only thing that happened after the last week’s meet was that the Pakistan Cricket Board softened their stance a bit by agreeing to the hybrid model being proposed for the marquee event but in return, they set some conditions for the BCCI to agree upon. Earlier, Shah assumed the role of ICC head on December 1.

During the Asia Cup 2023, which was supposed to be hosted by Pakistan only, the process of discussion and the row did not last long as Pakistan cricket accepted the hybrid model for the ACC event with some ease. Later, the ACC roped in Sri Lanka as the co-hosts for the tournament after India’s refusal to travel to the neighbouring nation.
Meanwhile, Shah, was was at the ICC headquarters in Dubai on Thursday along with some other board members, vowed to take cricket to unprecedented heights, following his first visit to the headquarters of the global governing body as its head. Elected unopposed in August, the 36-year-old became the youngest and fifth Indian to take over as the ICC chair.
