WATCH: Mitchell Starc takes perfect revenge, removes Yashavi Jaiswal for golden duck

New Delhi: Mitchell Starc gave Australia the perfect start in the second Test against India at the Adelaide Oval by getting a wicket on the very first ball of the match. The left-arm pacer dismissed in-form Yashasvi Jaiswal for a golden duck to spark wild celebrations at the iconic Australian venue. After Indian skipper Rohit Sharma won the toss and opted to bat first in overcast conditions, India couldn’t have imagined a worse start to the game.

Jaiswal, who scored a superb match-winning century in the Perth Test, was stunned with a magnificent delivery by Australia’s premier paceman. Starc bamboozled Jaiswal with a full-length delivery that swung late from leg to middle and hit the batter in front of the stumps. The umpire had no hesitation in lifting the finger and Jaiswal after discussing with his opening partner KL Rahul decided against referring the decision.

Starc’s revenge: Jaiswal’s golden duck in Adelaide

Starc’s celebration after dismissing Jaiswal said it all. He took no time in taking revenge against Jaiswal, who taunted him in the Perth Test. “You are bowling too slow,” Jaiswal had told Starc. The left-arm seamer gave the perfect reply with a superb delivery that was too hot to handle for Jaiswal. Starc is the only bowler to take a first-ball wicket in Tests thrice.

You are bowling too slow – Jaiswal.

Three changes for India

Earlier, India captain Rohit Sharma won the toss and chose to bat first in the pink ball Test. India made three changes as Rohit, Shubman Gill and Ravichandran Ashwin returned to the playing XI at the expense of Devdutt Padikkal, Dhruv Jurel and Washington Sundar.

Australia made one change as Scott Boland came in to replace injured fast-bowling colleague Josh Hazlewood.

India are 1-0 up in the five-match series after hammering Australia by 295 runs in the first Test in Perth.
