Virat Kohli sledges Marnus Labuschagne with ‘no clue’ jibe during 2nd Test – WATCH

New Delhi: Australia dominated the proceedings with the bat and the ball against India on Day 1 of the ongoing pink-ball Test between the two sides at the Adelaide Oval in Adelaide. Mitchell Starc picked up his maiden Test fifer against India as the visitors were bowled out for 180 runs in their first innings. Marnus Labuschagne and opener Nathan McSweeney helped the hosts remain on top at stumps on Day 1.

Australia got off to a shaky start in their 1st innings as they lost opener Usman Khawaja cheaply on 13 to Jasprit Bumrah. However, Labuschagne and McSweeney combined to add an unbeaten 62-run stand for the 2nd wicket to help the hosts finish with 86/1 at stumps on Day 1. The Aussie duo frustrated the Indian bowlers with their remarkable composure under pressure.

Team India star Virat Kohli was spotted trying to unsettle Labuschagne with ‘no clue’ taunts during Australia’s first innings on Day 1. The incident happened during one of Bumrah’s over when the pacer nearly managed to induce an edge of Labuschagne’s bat with a brilliant delivery. Kohli was caught on the stump-mic sledging the Aussie batter with ‘he’s got no clue’ jibe.

Virat Kohli fails in pink-ball Test

Expectations were high from Kohli heading into the pink-ball Test between India and Australia in Adelaide after the former India skipper’s brilliant century in the series opener in Perth. However, the star batter failed to turn up once again as he was dismissed cheaply on just 7 runs in India’s first innings of the Test match.

Indian batters struggled against the Australian pace attack in the game as they kept losing wickets at regular intervals to get bundled out for 180 runs in just 44.1 overs. The in-form Yashasvi Jaiswal was dismissed on a duck on the very first ball of the match by Mitchell Starc before KL Rahul (37) and Shubman Gill (31) added an important 69-run stand for the second wicket.

The likes of Kohli (7), skipper Rohit Sharma (3) and Rishabh Pant (21) failed to contribute much as India were left reeling at 109/6. Nitish Reddy played a fabulous cameo of 42 runs and was well supported by R Ashwin, who scored a valuable 22 to help India get to a fighting total on the board.
