New Delhi: The fight was set up for someone’s ‘0’ must be gone after the fight as both Shavakat Rakhmonov and Ian Garry were undefeated before the fight. Rakhmonov emerged victorious against Garry and broke his undefated streak in the UFC 310 event at the T-Mobile arena in Las Vegas on December 8, Sunday.
It was also the first time, Rakhmonov went to the distance and won his fight by decision. Both men started the fighting with their striking power and fought hard in the octagon. The first two rounds were easily won by Rakhmonov.
Garry made his comeback in the third round and executed his plans well in the fight. The round 3 was well contested by both the fighters. Garry takedown’s defence was top-notch against Rakhmonov. Both fighters trained together and knew strength and weakness of each other in the fight.
Rakhmonov made an early takedown shot in the fifth round but Garry reversed the attack and got the back of Rakhmonov and tried multiple attempts of rear naked choke but Rakhmonov survived. After the unanimous decision victory, Shavakat invited UFC welterweight champion Belal Muhammad in the octagon. They both faced off each other in the middle of the octagon.
In the main-event UFC flyweight champion Alexandre Pantoja defended his belt against Japanese fighter Kai Asakura. Pantoja submitted Asakura in the second round via rear naked choke. Asakura was never seen in his rhtyhm and Pantoja was looking dangerous as he hit some nasty shots early in the fight.
