New Delhi: Bayern Munich’s Alphonso Davies and Kingsley Coman have been confirmed by the club to have sustained muscular injuries during the side’s win over Heidenheim in the Bundesliga. Davies played for 90 minutes as Bayern won 4-2 at Allianz Arena, though Coman was substituted during the second-half stoppage time by Arijon Ibrahimovic.
Bayern have said that the duo will be on the sidelines at the moment. Davies has played 20 games across the club, having started in all five of the Champions League games. Meanwhile Coman has played in 13 Bundesliga games, scoring thrice, although he has only made six starts this season.

The two players join Harry Kane, who is already on the injury list due to a torn muscle fibre injury. Kane was already missing from Vincent Kompany’s squad during Munich’s 1-0 loss to Bayer Leverkusen in the final-16 of the DFB Pokal and was unavailable during the weekend fixture. The club haven’t given any definite answer on the English captain’s return to action.
Davies’s contract will run out with Bayern at the end of the season, with Real Madrid being deemed as one of the clubs interested in the Canadian international. The 24-year-old came to Bayern in 2019 and has made 147 appearances across the competition.
Bayern will face Shakhtar Donetsk next in their UEFA Champions League fixture on Tuesday. The game will be played in Gelsenkirchen due to the ongoing conflict in Ukraine. Currently, Bayern are placed 13th in the competition, with the top eight going directly to the knockout stage. They will then travel to Mainz for their Bundesliga weekend fixture.
Last season, Bayern failed to retain the Bundesliga title for the first time in over a decade as Leverkusen won their first title. This season, the Bavarians are table toppers with a six-point gap with the second-placed Eintracht Franfurt.
