New Delhi: Indian pacer Mohammed Siraj has finally opened up on his ICC punishment that he received for his verbal spat with Australian batter Travis Head during the Adelaide Test. Siraj gave a fiery send-off to Head after cleaning him up in the second innings of the second Test match of Border-Gavaskar Trophy, which India ended up losing by 10 wickets.
Siraj was fined 20 per cent of his match fees and also handed one demerit point by the International Cricket Council for his aggressive behaviour during the Adelaide game. Meanwhile, ahead of the third Test match which is four days away, Siraj gave a positive reaction on whatever happened during the match and the consequences as well.
Yeah man, it’s all good: Siraj
According to a report in Sydney Morning Herald, Indian pacer Siraj was quoted as saying, ‘Yeah man, it’s all good’. The Indian bowler was even asked by the Australian publication that whether he’s feeling sad after whatever transpired but he seemed to be alright with it. Not only Siraj, Travis Head was also handed one demerit point for the altercation he had with the Indian player.
Meanwhile, all eyes would be on how Team India manage to bounce back after a 10-wicket drubbing at Adelaide Oval. After starting the Border-Gavaskar Trophy on a high with an emphatic victory in the Perth Test, the performance of India dipped in the second Test match as they couldn’t really show up in any of the departments. The biggies like Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli among others failed to deliver and received a lot of criticism for their roles they played.
A good performance is what Team India would be aiming for especially with the qualification scenario of the WTC Finals hanging in a balance. India need to win four out of the five matches if they wish to earn a direct qualification in the ICC tournament final.
