New Delhi: Former Indian cricketer Shikhar Dhawan on Wednesday posted a heartfelt note for Nepal through a social media post. It was about sharing his experience in the country on the sidelines of his participation in the Nepal Premier League.

The video included a compilation of footages be it Dhawan’s gym sessions, net sessions, meeting the localites on the streets, adventuring in the helicopter, and his dance moves, everything was highlighted for the viewers to get a sneak peak of his less than a fortnight stay in the country.

“Higher the peaks, the warmer and more grounded the people of Nepal! Fell in love with every part of this beautiful place, and its majestic scenery. Can’t wait to return!”

The last line ‘Can’t wait to return’ was the catch that explained his stint in the inaugural Nepal Premier League has come to an end. Dhawan featured for Karnali Yaks in the eight-team tournament. Shikhar Dhawan’s runs in Nepal Premier League

Dhawan played his first match for Karnali Yaks on December 2 in Kirtipur. He opened the batting order with Dev Khanal, but didn’t played the impactful innings to justify his experience of international cricket. He made a run-a-ball 14, including three boundaries, before he was cleaned up by Harsh Thaker.

He played a fabulous knock of 72 runs off 51 balls against Kathmandu Gurkhas, smashing four boundaries and five sixes, to push the Karnali Yaks to 149, though the knock went in vain after Kathmandu chased the score in the final over.

Dhawan made 45 runs in the following match against Chitwan Rhinos as Karnali Yaks won by six wickets. His last innings only fetched him five runs against Biratnagar Kings. Overall, Dhawan scored 136 runs in four innings at an average of 45.33 and a strike rate of 122.52.
