New Delhi: In their most recent financial statements, which run through June 30, 2024, Manchester City reported a Premier League record income of £715 million. Revenues for the city increased by £2.2 million from the previous peak of £712.8 million. They were unable to replicate their historic 2023 Treble victory, but they did win the English crown for the fourth time in a row and won the Club World Cup and European Super Cup.
As City reported a total pre-tax profit of £73.8 million, wages fell £10.3 million to £412.6 million. There was a modest increase in commercial revenue from £341.4 million to £344.7 million. With the exception of the Covid-affected 2019–20 season, City has now turned a profit each season since 2014–15. Additionally, they have verified a total profit of £92.8 million from the sales of striker Liam Delap, defender Joao Cancelo, and Argentina forward Julian Alvarez since the end of June.

Even though the Cityzens have a lot to celebrate financially, they are still embroiled in a protracted FFP drama that is anticipated to result in a ruling soon. After winning the competition in 2023, City made £111.8 million from that competition alone. Hpwever, the Etihad Stadium is still plagued by the 115-130 charges there as they prepare for Sunday’s home derby matchup with United. Following Wednesday’s Champions League loss to Juventus, City are in serious danger of missing out on a play-off spot.
Their recent form in the league is undoubtebly their worst under Pep Guardiola, but this is a good news for the Spaniard too, as City will be needing to recruit a few new players in the next transfer window. Things may have gone horribly wrong for Pep and the English champions, but it isn’t too late for them to get back on track. If, as anticipated, it is determined that reinforcements are needed after their 10-game losing streak, they will be in a good position to strengthen manager Pep Guardiola’s team during the transfer window next month.
In his evaluation, which was made prior to the team’s worst run under Guardiola, City chairman Khaldoon al-Mubarak stated, “Our constant ambition to target and achieve the unprecedented is a mark of the organisation that we have be come.”
“On and off the field, our passion for the next challenge is underpinned by deliberate and detailed planning and a shared belief in the collaborative learning culture that we have built.
“This organisational approach is now part of our DNA. It is a product of the unwavering focus on constant improvement, in every aspect of the organisation, that has been in place since His Highness Sheikh Mansour became the club’s custodian in 2008.”
