New Delhi: Sara Tendulkar, the daughter of legendary Sachin Tendulkar, was spotted in the stands cheering for the Indian team on Day 1 of the ongoing 3rd Test between India and Australia at the Gabba in Brisbane. There was not much action possible on the opening day of the Test match as play was called off early due to persistent rain in Brisbane.
In pictures that went viral on social media, Sara was seen sitting in the stands with former India cricketers Harbhajan Singh and Zaheer Khan also sitting on the seats behind her. Sara had earlier shared a story on Instagram where she revealed she was in Brisbane ahead of the third Test between India and Australia.
Fans couldn’t help but bring India batter Shubman Gill into the conversation after Sara’s pictures from the Gabba went viral. There have been speculations in the past that Sara and Gill are dating each other and have been in a relationship for some time now.

Despite frequent rain interruptions, it was not quite the start that India would have expected in the third Test as the visitors remained wicket-less after bowling 13.5 overs on Day 1. Amid overcast conditions and the pitch offering bounce, the Indian pacers failed to make the most of the conditions as the Australian batters remained untroubled in the morning spell on Day 1.
Australia end Day 1 on 28/0
Australia ended Day 1 with 28 runs on the board and no wickets lost after some gritty batting from openers Usman Khawaja and Nathan McSweeney. The duo looked in control against the Indian pacers in the morning session despite the conditions aiding the fast bowlers. Khawaja, the local hero, looked in splendid touch as he played some brilliant strokes to counter the Indian pacer with the new ball.
Khawaja ended Day 1 with an unbeaten 19 while McSweeney was batting on 4. The duo will resume the proceedings for Australia on Day 2 on Sunday with both teams hoping that rain won’t play spoilsport again at the Gabba.
