New Delhi: As Manchester City think tank analyses its performances following their 2-1 loss to Manchester United in the final minutes, there will be many aspects they will be looking at. One of the names that will be on the top of their concern will be English left-winger Jack Grealish.
Grealish hasn’t scored for the Premier League club in exactly one year. His last goal came exactly a year ago when he scored in a 2-2 draw against Crystal Palace on December 16th, 2024. Across competition, the 29-year-old hasn’t scored yet. In fact in a year, he has only scored twice for his national side as well.

He has been at the best of form, coupled with injuries on a few occasions. At the time of his timing, it had been reported that City had paid £100 million, making him one of the most expensive transfers for an English player. Grealish, though, isn’t the only player who has been misfiring for Manchester City.
Erling Haaland, though he is the joint-most goal-scorer in the Premier League, hasn’t been finding the back of the net as frequently as would be expected of him. Kevin de Bruyne hasn’t been at his best since returning from a hamstring injury. Though he has scored during City’s win against Nottingham Forest, he hasn’t been performing consistently.
City’s recent performance has put them in fifth place in the Premier League, with a nine-point difference at the top of the table, while they are sitting in 22nd place in the Champions League and are near elimination from the tournament. Many questions have been raised at the club and its manager Pep Guardiola. They have won just once in their last 11 games across the competition and have lost a total of eight times.
