After Bayern Munich’s dominant 4-0 Champions League win over Juventus, Potsdam were looking at a heavy defeat. Head coach Alexander Straus rotated the squad and managed to keep a strong lineup. Potsdam’s defence was disciplined, and Bayern struggled to break through. Their best early chance came from a Sehitler volley in the 14th minute. Simon scored her first goal of the season in the 29th minute, converting a free kick from nearly 25 meters. She added a second, firing a powerful shot under the bar in the 51st minute.

Potsdam, who had scored just one goal all season, offered little threat, focusing on defence. Bayern could have added more but were denied by goalkeeper Fischer, who made key saves against Schüller and thwarted a chance from substitute Damnjanovic. Despite not increasing their lead, Bayern secured a 2-0 win and now enter the winter break in second place.

Both Werder Bremen and Wolfsburg came into the northern derby after losing their previous games in the league losses. Wolfsburg regrouped with a 6-1 midweek win over Roma in the UEFA Women’s Champions League. Jonsdottir, who scored four goals in the midweek clash, started on the bench against Werder. Beerensteyn made an early impact, scoring on a rebound in the 6th minute after Peng saved Blomqvist’s shot. Werder quickly equalized in the 8th minute, with Schmidt’s shot deflected by Wilms. However, Beerensteyn restored Wolfsburg’s lead just a minute later, finishing off a pass from Lattwein.

Both teams made substitutions at the break, and both had early shots on goal in the second half. After a save from Peng in the 55th minute, Wolfsburg scored their third goal from a corner, with Brand scoring despite not making clean contact. Werder struggled to respond, with Muhlhaus testing Frohms with a free kick in the 81st minute and Endemann missing a late chance in stoppage time. Wolfsburg’s 3-1 win was never in doubt.

Carl Zeiss Jena faced a tough challenge against Eintracht Frankfurt, who have the league’s best attack and defence. Jena’s recent form had been poor, with only three points from three draws and heavy losses to HSV and Bayern. In contrast, Frankfurt had won three straight games without conceding and the side was unchanged while Jena made several changes to theirs. El Sherif didn’t face a single shot on goal in the first half. Frankfurt’s goalkeeper, Johannes, though, had to make an early save, denying Reuter in the 2nd minute.

Despite Frankfurt dominating possession, Jena’s defence held firm, limiting clear chances. The closest Frankfurt came to scoring was in the 28th minute when Freigang’s header narrowly missed the target. Frankfurt eventually took the lead in the 68th minute when Freigang was fouled in the box, allowing substitute Wamser to score into an empty net. Jena pushed forward but couldn’t find an equalizer, and Frankfurt sealed the win with two late goals. First, Chiba capitalized on a mistake by Mummert to make it 2-0, then Freigang added a third after El Sherif misjudged a high ball.
