Legendary Indian cricketers who played their last Test in Border-Gavaskar Trophy

New Delhi: Legendary Indian player Ravichandran Ashwin announced his retirement from all forms of cricket on December 18, 2024. Wednesday marked the fifth and final day of the third Border-Gavaskar Trophy Test match between India and Australia at the Gabba, Brisbane. Bad weather and rain spoiled almost the entire game and the match finally ended in a draw, leaving the 5-match series equally poised at 1-1.

Ashwin’s decision to retire was a shock for all the cricket fans as there were absolutely no rumours about the legendary all-rounder bidding adieu to cricket. While the result ended in favour of Team India, as they would have been caught up in a tough situation had the match continued, Ashwin’s goodbye came as a big blow, making the Indian team members teary-eyed.
