Oleksandr Usyk vs Tyson Fury 2: Fight card result; Fury falls again

New Delhi: Oleksandr Usyk defeated Tyson Fury via unanimous decision at the Kingdom Arena, Riyadh in Saudi Arabia on December 22, Sunday. It was the second consecutive victory for Usyk against Fury. Ukrainian boxer beat Fury twice in the last seven months and retained his WBO, WBC, and WBA heavyweight titles.

Fury started the fight more actively than Usyk and won the first two rounds comfortably by hitting perfect jabs at Usyk. Ukrainian made a comeback in the third round by targeting Fury’s body. In round four, Fury changed his stance to Southpaw but Usyk connected a big left hand and then Fury turned to orthodox stance and again Usyk connected a left hook.

Fury was pushing the pace of the fight and was ahead of Usyk at the end of round 7. But after that Usyk put pressure on Fury and Britisher started missing the shots in the fight. In the final round Fury landed some nasty shots on Usyk but it was too late and Usyk won the fight via unanimous decision.

All judges scored the fight 116-112 in favor of Usyk, which means out of 12 rounds, Usyk won 8 rounds against Fury in the fight. During the fight, Usyk was way too fast and smart compared to Fury, and also Fury’s overweight made him pay in the fight.

Ukrainian retained his three championships successfully and he is the only fighter with four heavyweight titles in modern era boxing. After the fight, Daniel Dubois confronted Usyk in the ring and demanded a rematch as in the first fight he was knocked out by Usyk in round 9.
