New Delhi: UFC Featherweight champion Ilia Topuria has been a top star in UFC in 2024 as he won the featherweight title by defeating Alexander Volkanovski and then defended his belt to BMF champion Max Holloway and became the first fighter to knock out Holloway in UFC. It was his breakthrough season as he won his both fights by Knockouts.
Now, Topuria’s brother Aleksandre Topuria who has a record of 5-1 in his professional career will make his debut in UFC at the UFC 312 event in Australia. Aleksandre has a unique record of finishing his all opponents in MMA.
Aleksandre is one year older than Ilia and he will be in UFC 312 prelims. He will fight against Cody Hadon. Haddon was a contender in Dana White’s Contender Series season 8. He finished his opponent Billy Brand by submission in the first round and earned his UFC contract.
Aleksandre hasn’t fought since May 2023 and it will be his comeback fight in MMA after two years. While, Haddon won his last fight against Dan Arguelta with a unanimous decision in October 2024.
Ilia also announced that he will be challenging Islam Makhachev for the Lightweight championship. He wants to move upwards and challenge the number 1 pound-for-pound fighter in the UFC. Islam is set to fight Arman Tsarukyan in the first UFC event of 2025.
Indian fighter Anshul Jubli is also in UFC 312
Indian MMA star Anshul Jubli will also make his comeback in UFC after a year. He lost his UFC debut fight against Mike Breeden at UFC 294 event. Before the loss, he was undefeated in his professional MMA career. Jubli will fight against Quillan Salkilld at UFC 312.
Salkilld is also making his UFC debut against Jubli. Indian star will look to get back in winning column and want to become the first male fighter from India to win a fight in the UFC.
