PKL 11 top raiders and top defenders: Most raid and tackle points after match

New Delhi: Haryana Steelers outplayed U Mumba in the match No. 128 of the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) season 11 to ensure they will finish the league stage as the table toppers. The margin of defeat 47-30 as such for U Mumba that they couldn’t even pick up a single point from the match, which would have confirmed their qualification in the PKL 2024 playoffs.

Shivam Patare was the man to lead the Steelers this time against a determined U Mumba. The story of the Haryana franchise throughout has been that Shivam and Vinay have held the mantle for the attack in the watch of the swashbuckling Iranian all-rounder Mohammadreza Shadloui.

Patare accumulated 14 points from a total of 16 raids, accounting for nine touch points and plundered five bonus points. Vinay added six points, playing the second fiddle to Patare while Shadloui added just one touch point, but displayed iron-clad tackles, bagging five points. Sanjay also put on four tackle points to add to their cause as Haryana Steelers finished their 22-match league stage with 84 points after mustering 16 wins and six defeats.

In another match of the day, Tamil Thailavas defeated Bengaluru Bulls by a 42-32 margin in what was an inconsequential contest given that both teams have been already eliminated from the playoffs race. Bengaluru Bulls’ left raider Sushil was the top-scorer of the game with 15 raid points while Tamil Thalaivas all-rounder Himanshu picked the most points (13) from the victorious team.

Shivam Patare of Haryana Steelers moved to the ninth spot after picking up 14 points in his final league game. The 21-year-old has now 147 points from 22 matches. His raiding partner Vinay has crossed the 150-point mark in the season after scoring six raid points tonight. Ajit Ramesh Chauhan of U Mumba could only add one raid point to his tally from the eight raids he took against the Haryana outfit, though he will stay at the fourth spot.

Haryana Steelers’ Mohammadreza Shadloui has extended his pole position by adding five more tackle points against U Mumba in their final league fixture. The Iranian played has now bagged 76 tackle point in total from 22 matches. Nitin Rawal of Bengaluru Bulls has finished just below Shadloui with 74 points, and will have one more game to go above the Iran player at the end of the league stage.

Nitesh Kumar of Tamil Thalaivas and Rahul Sethpal of Haryana Steelers made progression in the list of top defenders following the action of Sunday.
