Festivities to continue in Hyderabad
The wedding festivities are not over yet. Sindhu and Dutta will take the festivities to Hyderabad, Sindhu’s hometown and host a reception party on December 24.
The pre-wedding celebrations kicked off in Hyderabad On December 20 with Sangeet, Haldi, Pellikuthuru and Mehendi ceremonies.
Sindhu’s father had earlier stated that the two families have known each other for a long time but the wedding plans were finalised within a month. It was because of Sindhu’s training and competition schedule the couple chose this date.
Sindhu recently ended her long Badminton World Federation (BWF) World Tour drought by edging past China’s Wu Luo Yu in the finals of the Syed Modi India International badminton tournament in Lucknow on December 1.
It was a much-needed title for Sindhu as she had gone two years – since the Singapore Open title in July 2022 – without a tournament success.
