Mahila Samman Yojana, Sanjeevani Yojana in Delhi: How to apply, eligibility

New Delhi: The registration process for Mahila Samman Yojana and Sanjeevani Yojana, initiatives of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) led Delhi government, kickstarted on Monday, December 24, 2024.

AAP confirmed that the registration for Delhi government’s ‘Mukhyamantri Mahila Samman Yojana’, which assures monthly assistance of Rs 1,000 to women aged 18 years and above, has started from Monday. Meanwhile, the Aatishi Marlena-led government also kick started the registration of Sanjeevani Yojana, which will provide free treatment in government and private hospitals for people above 60 years of age.

It may be noted that AAP convenor Arvind Kejriwal has assured to enhance the Mahila Samman Yojana benefit to Rs 2100 if his party is voted back to power in the 2025 Delhi election.

AAP has mentioned that applicants applying for Mahila Samman Yojana and Sanjeevani Yojana should possess a voter card of Delhi (Delhi voter). Around 35-40 lakh women will benefit from Mahila Samman Yojana and 10-15 lakh elderly people will benefit from Sanjeevani Yojana in the national capital.

The Aam Aadmi Party has announced that its workers, leaders and ministers in the Delhi government will visit door-to-door to register eligible beneficiaries.

Mahila Samman Yojana eligibility

Females wishing to avail the benefits of Mahila Samman scheme should be above 18 years. The beneficiary should be a resident and voter of Delhi. The applicants should make sure that she should not be a current or former permanent government employee (Central or State Government or MCD). A current or former MP, MLA, Councilor is not eligible for the scheme.
The family income of the beneficiary must be below Rs 3 lakh per annum.
The applicant’s family members should not be a government employee or serve as a public representative.
Women who run businesses are not eligible to apply.
If a woman applicant paid income tax in the last financial session, she will not be eligible to apply for Mahila Samman Yojana.
Eligibility requires proof of residence in Delhi, such as an Aadhaar card or voter ID.
The AAP government has also mentioned that applicants should not be beneficiaries of other government financial assistance schemes like old age pension, widow pension, disability pension.
