New Delhi: The BSE Sensex and the NSE Nifty will remain closed on Monday for Eid Holiday June 17, 2024, on account of Eid ul Adha, the day of remembrance of Islamic prophet Ibrahim’s readiness to sacrifice his son on the directions of God. Trading in commodities will be closed on the MCX during the 1st half of the day and resume at 5 pm on Monday, June 17, 2024.
The BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty will be closed for:
Equity trading
Futures and Options trading
Stock lending and borrowing
Currency derivatives
Interest rates derivatives
Normal working hours of BSE and NSE
On a normal working day, the BSE and the NSE start at 9:15 am and close at 3:30 pm. Pre-market trading takes place starting at 9:00 am and final settlement is at 3:45 pm. The BSE and NSE-operated indexes are closed on Saturdays, and Sundays as well as national and Maharashtra state holidays apart from key festivals in India.

The BSE and NSE also conduct special trading sessions on Saturdays to test their disaster preparedness. The disaster recovery trading session tests the preparedness of the BSE and NSE disaster recovery sites.
