New Delhi: Nitish Reddy scored his first international century in the fourth Test against Australia at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) on Saturday, December 27. He celebrated his moment of glory in style but didn’t forget to honour his country.
Reddy reached to his maiden Test century by playing a lofted shot in Scott Boland’s over, and after crossing the 100-run mark, he came up with an epic celebration that went viral on social media.
When asked about the reason behind the celebration, Nitish said on BCCI.tv “After my hundred, I was just planting my bat on ground and keeping my helmet. So, the Indian flag is there, right? So, I’m just planting my Indian flag, and I’m just saluting my Indian flag. The biggest motivation is playing for the country, and I just wanted to make this moment memorable”.
