New Delhi: Jasprit Bumrah on Wednesday scripted history as he surpassed spine legend Ravichandran Ashwin’s all-time rating-point record by an Indian in the latest ICC Test rankings. The Indian pace spreadhead touched the 907-point mark, bettering recently-retired Ashwin’s highest rating of 904, achieved in December 2016.
Last week ahead of the MCG Test, Bumrah had equalled the 904-mark and with a fine performance in the Test match, he rose to 907 this week. The mark achieved by the Indian pacer places him as the joint-17th in the all-time list with Derek Underwood of England. In the fourth Test match, Bumrah claimed nine wickets in both the innings helping him to consolidate his position as the number one Test bowler in the latest update.
