New Delhi: The Border Gavaskar Trophy has finally come down to the fifth and final Test match which will start on Friday at the Sydney Cricket Ground. Both India and Australia would be aiming for victories in the finale to close the five-game series on a high. With the series poised at 2-1, both the sides would aim to give it their best shot in the last five days of the BGT 2024-25.
Australia, who have been in a fine form all through the series after losing the opener at Perth, will try their best to continue their winning run and reclaim the series after a long gap of almost a decade. After the first Test defeat, Australian roared back to form at the Adelaide Oval registering a mammoth victory in the second Test to equal the series.
In the third Test match at the Gabba, Brisbane, Australia again looked on course for another victory but rain played the spoilsport and the game ended in a draw. In the fourth and last Test match at the iconic MCG, the Aussies scripted a miraculous turnaround to registered a 184-run win. India were on course for a draw but the Aussies bowlers bowled terrifically well which led to a batting collapse giving Australia a special win and a 2-1 series lead.

As per the weather forecast, the opening day guarantees viewers a complete day’s play without any rain interruption. The temperature is expected to be in between 23 to 25 degree Celsius making it an ideal for players to play for the entire 90 overs. There will be partly cloudy skies but they will intern offer favourable conditions for play. Team winning the toss can gain an early advantage which will set their base for the rest of the match.
