Cricket rewind: 17-year-old Sachin Tendulkar thrills English crowd with majestic century – WATCH

New Delhi: Cricket fans still remember August 14, 1990, for it was a day when a 17-year-old boy schooled the much-fancied English bowling attack on an overcast day in Manchester. From the moment, the curly-haired boy arrived at the crease, those who were in attendance at Old Trafford knew they were witnessing something special. But none would have imagined he would become the greatest batter of all time.

That young Indian boy was none other than Sachin Tendulkar, who announced his arrival to international cricket with a majestic century against England. The Master Blaster scored his maiden ton eight months after his Test debut.

For Sachin facing the likes of Devon Malcolm, Angus Fraser and Eddie Hemmings, was like a cakewalk.

Sachin was instrumental in helping India draw the second Test of the three-match series with a half-century and a hundred.

After scoring 68 in the first essay, he slammed 109 in the second innings to help India save the match. His innings was laced with seventeen boundaries.
