The thing which kept the seasoned veteran away from action all these months was his fitness which is of utmost importance. But the injury-prone seamer has been proving his agility along with ability by engaging in practice sessions where he’s spotted polishing his bowling skills. So as far as the fitness is concerned, Shami seems to be fine as he has proved that by participating in the domestic cricket matches and net practice sessions.
The other reason that is keeping him away from action and the BCCI not selecting the superior bowler is not really known. Maybe, a thought of saving the best for the last keeping in mind the the big Champions Trophy is what the India cricket management has thought. As of now, there is now clarity related to the communication of the fast bowler with the team management but it’s expected that he will soon be spotted in India colours again.
