Ruben Amorim issues clear stance to Jim Ratcliffe on Kobbie Mainoo’s possible move

New Delhi: Ruben Amorim, the head coach of Manchester United, has been questioned regarding rumors that midfielder Kobbie Mainoo is joining Chelsea, the Red Devils’ Premier League opponents. Although he acknowledges that it could be difficult for Manchester United to retain their homegrown talent, he says he wants to keep Kobbie Mainoo. Amorim admitted that United is having a “hard moment” retaining academy graduates, such as Marcus Rashford, who was banished.

Although Mainoo and United are negotiating a new contract, the possibility of United making a move for the England midfielder has increased due to the profit and sustainability regulations [PSR], which treat academy players as pure profit on the balance sheet. Knowing that United would be unable to reject a deal of around £70 million for the 19-year-old sensation, Chelsea is keeping an eye on Mainoo’s contract status.

What are Amorim’s thoughts on this?

Mainoo’s representatives are seeking a pay increase to raise his current £20,000 weekly income at United to £180,000. Amorin reiterated his wish to retain the midfield player, and United is certain they can reach a settlement with Mainoo’s team. Ever since he made his breakthrough into the first team of Manchester United, Mainoo has showed great promise of becoming a top tier midfielder, with all the qualities that a manager demands from his player.

“My players are always my favourites,” said Amorim. “I really love my players, I want to keep them, especially the talented ones.

“It’s a hard moment, but I’m really happy with Kobbie, he is improving.

He further stated that although they are aware of the club’s current standing in terms of PSR, their goal is always to retain the top players and the ones who develop for this team. According to Amorim, players sometimes have distinct profiles for this system and arrive with varied ideas about how to play.

Amorim stated that he never mentioned about adding new players to his squad as he would focus more on the development of United’s academy products. His plans look pretty clear as of now, as he would be willing to keep his players and the same goes for Kobbie Mainoo, who has a lot to prove to the United fans.

Ruben Amorim urged Jim Ratcliffe to re-evaluate any plans to allow young star Kobbie Mainoo to depart, highlighting the player’s potential and significance to the club’s future.  Football Sports News: Latest Cricket News, Cricket Live Score, Sports Breaking News from Sports Today
