New Delhi: Heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk dominated the 2024 Ring awards, which took place in London with the biggest names in boxing all attending the event marked to recognise their efforts inside the ring last year.

Usyk defeated Tyson Fury in a heavyweight championship rematch by unanimous decision last month, staying unbeaten across two divisions to establish himself among the top names in boxing annals.

The Ukrainian beat the Briton 116-112 on points marked by all three judges to improve his professinal heavyweight record to 23-0 with 14 knockouts, adding another glorious chapter in a decorated career that includes Olympic gold and being undisputed cruiserweight champion.

The 37-year-old claimed three awards, claiming Fighter of the Year, Event of the Year, and Round of the Year accolades.

Usyk had first beaten Fury in May to join the likes of Muhammad Ali, Joe Louis and Mike Tyson as undisputed heavyweight champions, becoming the first in the four-belt era.

“For me this year was great. For me, for my team, for my country, for me it’s very important. If you want to help people, if you want to give smiles, give god education, behavior, smile, be happy, thank you so much. And, I want to say, my opponent, my best friend, Tyson Fury, my friend ‘greedy belly’ you great my opponent,” he said, when he took to the stage for the third time.
