Arsenal have a terrific home record against the Lillywhites have only lost twice in their 33 Premier League games. Tottenham have failed to win at the Emirates Stadium since 2010, with the Gunners staying unbeaten in 13 games at the venue. The home domination stands true for both sides in fact.
At home, Tottenham have lost just four of their last 17 games against Arsenal with three of these losses coming in the last three clashes. All three of these wins have come in the last three times the two teams have met at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. This happens to be the first time Arsenal have won three successive away North London derbies since September 1988.
A high-scoring affair
Arsenal and Tottenham’s games happen to be the fourth highest-scoring Premier League draw in the competition with 187 goals scored between them. This stat happens to be just behind Liverpool and Tottenham’s 191, Arsenal’s clash against Liverpool which has seen 190 goals and the Newcastle-Tottenham rivalry which has seen 189 goals.
Four times it has happened that a game has seen seven or more goals, including Arsenal’s two successive 5-2 home wins in 2012, the 4-4 draw at Emirates Stadium in 2008 and the 5-4 win at the Old Tottenham home ground where they won 5-4 in 2004. On average, the games see a 2.9 goal scored from their 65 games, with both teams scoring on 43 occasions.
Penalty Brilliance
In the Premier League’s entire existence, the North London derby has the highest number of penalties provided, with 24 goals coming from 26 spot kicks. Only Robbie Keane for Tottenham Hotspur in 2007 and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang for Arsenal in 2019 are the only two players to date to have missed penalties from 12 yards.
The last time there was no penalty awarded was in 2017-18 in one of the meetings. Harry Kane has scored seven from 14 goals in the rivalry from the penalty spot, the most a single player has scored against a single team in the history of the Premier League.

There have been many occasions that Arsenal have overturned a result despite conceding early, with their famous 5-2 win in the 2011-12 season being a highlight of this, when Arsenal were in a two-goal deficit before turning the match in their favour. This fixture has the record for most losses after a team has scored first with Spurs taking a total of 17 losses from such positions.
In fact, after Newcastle United matches against Liverpool where they have dropped 47 times after scoring first, it is Tottenham who have given away leads against Arsenal on 45 occasions. Though they have won in the last three of the four games they have scored first, Tottenham haven’t scored first in the last five of their meetings with Arsenal.
Closing minute drama
Overall, there have been six goals scored in the 90th minute of an Arsenal-Tottenham clash though none have been scored since Theor Walcott scored the the final goal in the 5-2 win for Arsenal.
Apart from this, there have been no winning goal in the stoppage time for a North London derby in the Premier League. This is obviously a rather slim respite for the fans who are holding their breath for the entire duration of this magnificent game.
