New Delhi: A modern-day run machine, Virat Kohli is arguably one of India’s best batters of all time. One of the most prolific run-getters for India across all formats, Kohli has been shattering records at will and continues to remain a vital cog in the team’s batting line-up. Having drawn curtains on his T20I career, Kohli has completely shifted his focus on Tests and ODIs.
With 80 centuries under his belt across formats, Kohli is currently at the top of the list among active batters with the most tons in international cricket. He is also the only active batter close to breaking the legendary Sachin Tendulkar’s record of 100 centuries in international cricket. With a long Test season ahead for Team India, Kohli will be hoping to continue his prolific run in the whites.
Kohli has already become India’s 2nd highest run-getter in ODIs behind only Tendulkar with a staggering 13,906 runs. However, he still has a lot to achieve in Test cricket. The former India captain has so far amassed 8848 runs in 113 matches in Test cricket and has 29 centuries to his name. Three Indian batters have more Test centuries than Kohli.
Indian batters with more Test tons than Virat Kohli:
1) Sachin Tendulkar
Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar holds the record for most centuries for India in Tests and the most centuries by any batter in the longest format.
