New Delhi: Indian cricketer Rinku Singh is creating headlines for his reported engagement to Uttar Pradesh politician Priya Saroj. Reports of Rinku getting engaged to Priya, Samajwadi Party MP representing Machhlishahr, Uttar Pradesh have been circulating on social media with users extending wishes to the cricketer and the politician.
Neither Rinku nor Priya has confirmed the news after speculations started circulating through claims made by social media users.
Rinku Singh, Indian cricket’s rising star, has been a prominent figure for the Indian T20I team for the past two years.
Meanwhile, Priya became a Lok Sabha MP at the age of 25 last year. Backed by Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav, she claimed a famous win against BJP’s veteran candidate BP Saroj in the Machhlishahr constituency.
Born in 1998, Priya is also a practicing lawyer in the Supreme Court. Aiming to continue the political legacy of her father, Toofani Saroj, who was an MP from the same constituency in 1999, 2004, and 2009, Priya joined politics in 2024.

Rinku ready for England challenge
Rinku will be seen in action in India’s upcoming five-T20I series starting on January 22 in Kolkata against England. Since gaining recognition during IPL 2023 when he smashed five consecutive sixes against Gujarat Titans. Following his heroic stint with KKR in the 2023 edition, Rinku was picked for the Indian T20I team, where he has since become a regular.
In T20I cricket, Rinku has scored 507 runs in 30 matches at an average of 46.09, including three half-centuries.
