New Delhi: The UFC 311 event will be a historic night for coach Khabib Nurmagomedov as multiple fighters from Team Khabib will be fighting in a championship match and Dagestani will be presented in the ringside to support his fighters.

Khabib retired from the UFC after the demise of his father in 2020. The Dagestani fighter smoothly transformed from a fighter to a coach and took forward the legacy of his late father in the UFC.

The first fighter who will represent Team Khabib will be Tagir Ulanbekov, who will be against Clayton Carpenter. The fight will be in the flyweight division and both fighters will compete in the prelims of UFC 311.

Ulanbekov is coming from back-to-back submission victories and will be eyeing to enter in top 10 rankings of the flyweight division as he is currently ranked number 11 in the division.

After Ulanbekov’s fights, the co-main event of the night Umar Nurmagomedov will be competing for the Bantamweight championship. Umar is the cousin of Khabib and is currently on an 18-fight win streak in his professional MMA career.

Umar will be against Bantamweight champion Merab Dvalishvili and this will be the champion’s first title defense after winning the title against Sean O’Malley at UFC 306.

Khabib will be presented in the corner of Umar to help and advise him during the fight. After the co-main event, Khabib will conclude the night by standing with his brother Islam Makhachev, who will defend his lightweight title against Renato Moicano.

Earlier, Arman Tsarukyan was set to face Islam but a few hours later, he pulled out from the fight due to his back injury. Moicano entered the fight with one day’s notice and will be aiming to upset the world by defeating Islam.

Team Khabib’s members fight fixture:

Tagir Ulanbekov vs Clayton Carpenter: Flyweight division
Umar Nurmagomedov vs Merab Dvalishvili: Bantamweight championship match
Islam Makhachev vs Renato Moicano: Lightweight championship match
