New Delhi: UFC Light Heavyweight champion Alex Pereira had an excellent 2024 year where he defended his title thrice and all of that came on short notice. The Poatan also headlined the historic UFC 300 event, where he knocked out Jiri Prochaza.
Alex will be fighting his first fight of 2025 in the UFC 313 event at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on March 9, Sunday. He will be defending his title against Magomed Ankalaev. The announcement came just before the Prochazka and Jamahal Hill’s fight.
The most awaited fight in the light heavyweight division will finally be happening in the UFC as most of the fans were trolling Pereira that he is avoiding Ankalaev because of his grappling skills. But the champion will return in the octagon with a classic fight.
The co-main event of UFC 313
UFC also confirmed the co-main event of UFC 313 pay-per-view as former BMF champion Justin Gaethje will be making his comeback in the octagon. The co-main event will feature Gaethje and Dan Hooker in the lightweight division.
Gaethje will be returning to the action after his loss at UFC 300 against Max Holloway who didn’t make his appearance in the UFC. Meanwhile, Hooker will come to this fight after his two successive wins in the UFC.

Jiri Prochazka TKO Jamahal Hill at UFC 311
Jiri Prochazka knocked out former light heavyweight champion Jamahal Hill at UFC 311. Before the fight, both fighters stared down each other intensely. The referee had to interfere as both were not stopping to stare at each other.
Prochazka and Hill both were coming with a knockout loss against Alex Pereira. Jiri made the statement early in the fight by breaking Hill’s nose and TKO him in round three of the bout.
