Gulmarg, Jammu and Kashmir
Gulmarg, in Jammu and Kashmir, is a popular hill station and ski resort. The place is famous for its beauty and adventure opportunities. Popularly known as Gulmarg Gondola, it is one of the highest cable car rides in the world. It runs from Gulmarg to Kungdoor and then from Kungdoor to Aparwath. One can see the panoramic views of the snow-covered peaks of the Pir Panjal range from this ride.
Darjeeling, West Bengal
Built in 1968, it is reportedly the first cable car in India. However, do keep in mind that its operation is irregular. Earlier, the route of the cable car was from Singmari to Singla Bazar across the valley of the Little Rangeet River and it will stop at Burnesbeg village and the Tukvar tea estate. The route was later changed and the cable car returned from Tukvar.
Gangtok, Sikkim
The capital of Sikkim has the famous Gangtok Ropeway. It starts the journey from Deorali Bazar which is located at the center of the city. It was constructed in 2003 and links the Tashiling Secretariat via the Sikkim Legislative Assembly.
