New Delhi: Varun Chakaravarthy continued his brilliant run with the ball in the 3rd T20I against England at the Niranjan Shah Stadium in Rajkot on Tuesday as he picked up his second five-wicket haul for India in the shortest format. Chakaravarthy has been sensational ever since making his comeback for India in T20Is last year.
The mystery spinner ripped through England’s batting line-up during the 3rd T20I in Rajkot on Tuesday after India won the toss and invited the visitors to bat first in the game. Chakaravarthy dismissed England skipper Jos Buttler, Jamie Smith, Jamie Overton, Brydon Carse and Jofra Archer to finish with exceptional figures of 5/24 off his 5 overs.
Chakaravarthy’s fifer helped India restrict England to 171/9 in the game. The leg spinner achieved a remarkable feat with his fifer in the Rajkot clash as he became the first Indian to take 10 wickets in a bilateral T20I series against England. Chakaravarthy has managed to take 10 wickets in just three matches in the ongoing five-match series against the Buttler-led side.
