Before one delves into the fine print of the budget, investors will be able to have a look at some sectors and companies more readily than others. Let’s have a look at some of the stocks that could be in focus today, February 1, 2025 as FM Nirmala Sitharaman rises to present the budget at 11 am.
On January 31, Sensex ended the trading session in the green. It closed the day at 77,527.87 points, recording a gain of 768.05 points, or 1.00%, while Nifty closed at stood at 23,523.80 points, up 274.30 points, or 1.18%. Indian stock market indices also gained on January 30, 29 and 28 too.

Tata Consumer products target price: IIFL Securities has generated a Buy call on this stock at Rs 1,025. The target prices are Rs 1,057 and Rs 1,080, while the stoploss is at Rs 994. The current market price (CMP) has been mentioned at Rs 1,024.65.
Container Corporation of India target price: IIFL Securities has generated a Buy call on Concor at Rs 780. The target prices are at Rs 810 and Rs 832. The stoploss has been mentioned at Rs 750. The current market price (CMP) has been mentioned at Rs 780.10.
Titan target price: On Titan, IIFL Securities has generated a Buy call at Rs 3,490. The 2 target prices are Rs 3,595 and Rs 3,670. The stoploss IIFL Securities issued is at Rs 3,385 and the CMP has been mentioned at Rs 3,490.25.
BEL target price: There is a Buy call on BEL at Rs 293. The target prices are at Rs 305 and Rs 313. The stoploss has been set at Rs 281. The Current Market Price has been mentioned at Rs 292.65.
Macrotech Developers target price: For Macrotech Developers (NSE: LODHA) IIFL Securities has generated a Buy call at Rs 1,205, while the two target prices are at Rs 1,242 and Rs 1,265. The stoploss has been set at Rs 1,168. The current market price (CMP) has been mentioned at Rs 1,204.50.
Stocks to Watch on Budget Day
Suzlon: The Suzlon stock has risen by 16% in the past 3 days after it announced Q3 FY25 earnings report. In its Q3 FY25 results, Suzlon Energy’s operating margin improved to 16.8% which was better than the expectations of analysts. Profits jumped by 91%. Nuvama Institutional Equities has issued a Buy call on this stock.
RVNL: RVNL is one of the stocks in focus on Budget Day since the FM is expected to maintain the government’s focus on capex in the crucial railway sector. Narinder Wadhwa, Managing Director & CEO of SKI capital has told the media that stocks like RVNL could benefit from the focus on high-speed rail projects, electrification as well as modernisation and green initiatives.
Waaree Energies: The Waaree Energies stock appreciated by as much as 12% in the past 5 days. The company’s Q3 FY25 financials have beaten street expectations. It announced a 260% jump in net profit to Rs 507 crore, against Rs 141 crore in Q3 a year ago.
IRFC: The IRFC stock, which is one of companies that can benefit immensely from the government’s sustained focus on railways soared on Friday, January 31, after the market sensed the thrust on the railways sector following the Economic Survey 2025 announcing expansion for Indian Railways in FY25.
HAL: Hindustan Aeronautics is a defence stock, which has been one of the primary focus areas of the Narendra Modi government. It is also benefitting from the Make In India push by the Centre. HAL’s shares have risen more than 31% in the past one year.
IRB Infra: IRB Infrastructure Developers (IRB Infra) has announced a manifold rise in net profit in Q3 FY25 which stood at Rs 6,026 crore, as against a figure of Rs 187.42 crore in Q3 FY24. It included an exceptional gain of Rs 5,804 crore. The company’s net profit for Q2 FY25 was Rs 99.9 crore.
