New Delhi: The Vedanta Udaipur World Music Festival is back with its 7th edition, set to take place in Udaipur, Rajasthan, from 7th to 9th February 2025. Organised by SEHER in partnership with the Rajasthan Tourism Department and supported by Hindustan Zinc Ltd, this festival is one of India’s most significant music events. It celebrates Rajasthan’s rich musical heritage while also showcasing diverse global music traditions.

This year’s theme focuses on preserving and promoting Rajasthan’s forgotten musical instruments and traditions. With free entry, the festival offers a unique cultural experience, where visitors can enjoy a blend of traditional and international music. It is the only festival in India that brings world music directly to the people of Rajasthan.

Featuring over 22 bands from more than 15 countries—including Argentina, Iran, Sweden, Spain, Germany, and Hungary—the festival offers a rare opportunity to experience a variety of musical traditions from around the world.

Udaipur World Music Festival: Dates & Venues

The festival is set to attract thousands of music lovers from across the globe, bringing them together for three days of incredible performances. The event kicks off on 7th February 2025 at Manji ka Ghat and concludes on 9th February 2025 at Gandhi Ground. Multiple venues will host different performances throughout the festival, allowing visitors to enjoy music at various times of the day.

Morning Stage: Manji ka Ghat (8 AM – 10 AM) – 8th & 9th February
Afternoon Stage: Fateh Sagar Paal (3 PM – 5 PM) – 8th & 9th February
Evening Stage: Gandhi Ground (6 PM – 10 PM) – 7th, 8th & 9th February

How to Attend

One of the festival’s biggest highlights is that it is completely free—no tickets, no payments, just pure music and cultural celebration. All you need is a love for music and an appreciation of Udaipur’s rich history and breathtaking palaces. Organised by the Government of Rajasthan, the festival promises three days of unforgettable performances in a spectacular setting.

Udaipur World Music Festival: Artist Line-up

The festival features a mix of internationally acclaimed artists and top Indian talent. Several global artists will be performing live in India for the first time, alongside renowned Indian musicians such as Shaan, Karsh Kale, Kanika Kapoor, Faridkot, Sukriti-Prakriti, Rithvik Raja, and Western Ghats, among many others. This diverse lineup ensures a rich and immersive musical experience for all attendees.

A Tribute to Rajasthan’s Musical Heritage

One of the festival’s most special highlights is its tribute to the Sarangi, an instrument deeply embedded in Rajasthan’s cultural heritage. Known for its soulful sound, the Sarangi embodies the essence of the region’s musical tradition. This initiative aims to revive and preserve the instrument, ensuring its legacy continues for future generations.
