On the seventh day of the Games, Karnataka emerged as the leader in the medal tally, securing a total of 42 medals, including 22 gold, 10 silver, and 10 bronze.
Following closely, Services has reached a total of 38 medals, comprising 19 gold, 10 silver, and 9 bronze. Services, a team composed of Army personnel, have emerged as the National Games champions securing second place in medal tally on seventh day.
Maharashtra ranks third despite winning 61 medals
Despite winning the highest number of medals so far (61), Maharashtra ranks third due to a lower gold medal count, with 15 gold, 26 silver, and 20 bronze medals. Securing the fourth position, Manipur has won 11 gold, 10 silver, and 5 bronze medals. In fifth place, Madhya Pradesh has 10 gold, 5 silver, and 5 bronze medals.
Haryana and Tamil Nadu delivered impressive performances
Haryana and Tamil Nadu, both states have also delivered impressive performances. Haryana has a total of 33 medals (6 gold, 9 silver, and 18 bronze), while Tamil Nadu has secured 34 medals (9 gold, 12 silver, and 13 bronze).
Uttarakhand ranks 19th position
As the host state, Uttarakhand has won a total of 17 medals, including 1 gold, 7 silver, and 9 bronze, placing it in the 19th position. The state’s athletes continue to strive for excellence and bring pride to the region.
Focus on high-performance coaching and anti-doping awareness
During the 38th National Games, the Mauli Samvad National Sports Vision Conclave hosted two important sessions on the sixth day, emphasizing high-performance coaching and anti-doping awareness. These sessions were aimed at strengthening India’s sports ecosystem by providing valuable information to athletes, coaches, and sports enthusiasts.
High-performance coaching session
The first session was led by senior athlete coach Dr. Nilima Deshpande from NIS Patiala, moderated by Annesa Ghosh. Dr. Deshpande highlighted the role of sports science in high-performance coaching and its importance in helping athletes reach elite levels. She emphasized the need for coaches to understand the physical and mental needs of athletes, maintain a balance between on-field and off-field activities, and adopt advanced coaching techniques and multidisciplinary approaches. The session concluded with a discussion on the challenges of keeping athletes motivated and addressing their diverse needs.
Anti-doping awareness
The second session focused on anti-doping awareness, educating participants on the importance of clean sports and the consequences of doping. Experts shared insights on the measures needed to prevent doping and promote fair play.
Uttarakhand, the host state, continues to support and celebrate its athletes, hoping for more victories and a memorable National Games experience.
