New Delhi: Brazil’s Casemiro still is in contention for leaving Manchester United this month after the Red Devils agreed to subside his wages in order to assist him in getting a loan move to Flamengo according to a report from Bolavip. It has been reported that Flamengo are interested in Casemiro, who has been an unused substitute in the last nine of the 11 games in United’s Premier League game.
Further, the club has said that the midfielder has been tested in recent times and that the move has been approved by Filipe Luis. It has been noted that United are quite keen for the deal to go through and have agreed to pay a part of the 32-year-old’s wages. However, despite this, the £350,000 a month is still a costly affair and could put the deal in jeopardy.

Casemiro joined Man United during the summer transfer window of 2022 for £60m along with £10m add-ons. He was brought in as the second option after Frenkie de Jong had refused a move from Barcelona. It was a heavily criticised move for Barcelona who was deemed to have entered the closing stages of his career.
However, the former Real Madrid player had silenced them in his debut season, making a good impression at the Old Trafford. However, his form has gone down terribly over the time period. With Ruben Amorim taking over the helms of United, Casemiro barely fits the tactical plan of the Portuguese coach. United would want to disburden themselves from Casemiro, who is currently the highest earner on the side.
There have been other links as well, with some reports suggesting that there were interest from Saudi Pro League clubs but the Brazilian midfielder didn’t complete a move before the transfer window closed there. There are other suggestions that he may move back to Brazil, who still have their winter window open until the end of the month, especially after Neymar’s move to his boyhood club Santos.
Ruben Amorim’s risk in the transfer period
Amorim recently came forward saying that the strategy deployed by United was taking a huge risk on themselves however, he wanted certain types of players to improve the side’s performance. Amorim confirmed that the decision and strategy for the transfer window was from him.
He further went on to note that it was a huge risk that he had taken on himself. Man United are currently placed 13th in the Premier League with Amorim seeing seven losses in the competition in the 13 matches he has been part of. United managed to move to the fifth round of the FA Cup last weekend.
