New Delhi: Sachin Yadav continued his impressive rise at the ongoing National Games 2025 in Uttarakhand as he bagged a gold medal in the men’s javelin throw. The javelin thrower from Uttar Pradesh dominated the proceedings in the final as he shattered the 10-year-old Games record at the Ganga Athletic Stadium in Dehradun on Wednesday.
24-year-old Sachin produced an impressive throw for 84.39m in the men’s javelin final in Dehradun to secure the top spot on the podium and bag the elusive gold medal at the National Games 2025. He produced the massive throw in his 5th attempt in the final which also helped him improve his personal best of 82.69m to 84.39m.
The gold-medal winning throw also saw Sachin break a 10-year-old Games’ record held by Haryana’s Rajender Singh. Singh threw 82.23m at the National Games 2015 in Kerala. The record remained intact for 10 years despite Neeraj Chopra becoming one of the best javelin players in the world.
