Masala Omelette Recipe

Make this scrumptious Masala Omelette at home by following these simple steps!

Ingredients

  • 3 eggs
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1 small tomato, finely chopped (optional)
  • 1 green chilli, finely chopped
  • 2 tbsp fresh coriander, chopped
  • ½ tsp Kashmiri chilli powder (or cayenne pepper)
  • ½ tsp turmeric powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil or butter
  • 1 tsp lemon juice

Method

Serves: 2 | Total Time: 20–25 minutes

Step 1: Prepare the Ingredients

  • Add the chopped onions, green chillies, coriander, chilli powder, and turmeric to a bowl.
  • Mix well.

Step 2: Whisk the Eggs

  • Crack the eggs into the bowl and whisk lightly.
  • Season with salt to taste.

Step 3: Cook the Omelette

  • Heat the oil in a large non-stick frying pan.
  • Pour one-third of the egg mixture into the pan.
  • Swirl quickly to distribute it evenly.
  • Cook for a minute on medium heat until the underside sets, turns light brown, and develops a slightly crisp edge.
  • Flip the omelette and cook for another minute.
  • Set aside and keep warm.
  • Repeat this process to make two more Masala Omelettes.

Step 4: Serve

  • Fold the omelette.
  • Drizzle with lemon juice.
  • Serve tucked into bread or wrapped in a chapatti!
