New Delhi: UFC legend Khabib Nurmagomedov has lavished praise on his young teammate Amru Magomedov and has backed him to become a future MMA star. Khabib, who is regarded as one of the greatest UFC fighters of all time, retired unbeaten with a flawless record of 29-0. Khabib defeated Justin Gaethje in his last fight and has since focused on training future superstars.
‘The Eagle’, who has played a key role in the making if the likes of current UFC lightweight champion Islam Makhachev, Umar Nurmagomedov and Bellator-PFL champion Usman Nurmagomedov, has predicted a bright future Amru Magomedov. Khabib took to his Instagram to praise Magomedov after his victory against MMA veteran Alez da Silva in the UAE Warriors 58 which took place on Saturday, February 22.
Magomedov thrashed Da Silva by knocking him out in the first round of the fight in the UAE Warriors 58. With the victory, the 25-year-old, who has been tipped by many to continue the Daegastani legacy in UFC, extended his record to 9-0 in professional MMA. Magomedov downed Silva with a brutal right hand before crushing his body with a roundhouse kick to finish him in the first round of their main-event bout.
Following his victory, Khabib took to his Instagram to share a clip of the 25-year-old fighter and wrote: “Remember that guy”, heaping praise on Magomedov.
MMA manager Ali Abdelaziz also echoed Khabib’s sentiments in his Instagram post for Magomedov as he hailed the Russian as a future UFC champion. “Mark my words. This kid will be UFC champion. One of the best strikers in MMA today,” he wrote.

Who is Amru Magomedov?
Amru Magomedov is a 25-year-old MMA fighter from Kyzyl-Yurt, Russia. He was born in June 02, 1999, and has quickly established his credentials as one of the best young prospects in the MMA world at present with even Khabib singing his praises. Magomedov, who stands at 5’11”, made his professional MMA debut in 2017 and has since bagged nine wins in a row.
He has been a dominant force in the UAE Warriors and is getting ready for the big stage in UFC where he is expected to make waves soon. Magomedov has trained under Khabib and his late father Abdulmanap, who unfortunately passed away in 2020. Khabib has since coaches the Daegastani unit personally and believed Magomedov is one for the future.
